Job summary

Urban is growing and seeking a qualified Engineering Graduate to work as part of our Construction Services Team on complex highway, bridge, facility, and aviation projects throughout the greater Philadelphia region.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in construction inspection and construction management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or a related discipline is required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) / Engineering Intern (EI) Certificate in Pennsylvania is preferred.
• Previous experience in design, inspection, or construction management of heavy highway/bridge/facilities/airport projects is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral, written, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• On-site performance monitoring of highway, bridge, aviation, and facility projects and documenting conformance with plans and specs.
• Reviewing and documenting field activities, acting as a client representative.
• Daily communication between construction services team, contractor, and client.
• Provide direct support to the Construction Manager/Construction Engineer.
• Process PSA reports, tablet/computer usage, payments, work authorizations, and project scheduling.
• Oversee submissions, including submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Participate in training and mentoring to develop project management and engineering skills.
• Work toward FE exam and ultimately PE exam.
• Perform other duties to support the Construction Services Team.
