Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a Building Manager to oversee the William F. Durand and Hugh H. Skilling buildings within the Mechanical Engineering portfolio.

You will supervise facilities operations, respond to building needs, and coordinate with a team of safety specialists and project managers on complex renovations and daily grounds maintenance. The role requires strong facilities management experience, budgeting skills, and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Five years related, demonstrated technical facilities management experience.
• Experience coordinating complex facilities operations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets.
• Knowledge of building systems, labs, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as property operations/maintenance point of contact for facilities’ issues; initiate work requests and monitor completion.
• Manage maintenance/renovations budgets; coordinate routine maintenance (trash, utilities, custodial, pest control).
• Coordinate and inspect contract work; liaise with vendors; implement process improvements.
• Handle space management, record keeping, and asset tracking; support space decisions.
• Implement security programs; manage access, keys, and alarms; ensure compliance.
