Job summary
La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Inc. seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering to supervise the engineering and grounds teams, oversee preventive maintenance, monitor budgets, inventory parts, and ensure projects align with company guidelines.
Responsibilities include staffing, safety compliance, energy conservation, and coordinating with other departments to support guest satisfaction and property operations. The role requires strong leadership and cost-control acumen in a luxury coastal setting.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent; 3–5 years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Must have valid California driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Staffing and maintenance of all engineering positions.
- Ensures neatness and cleanliness of the engineering shop and areas of responsibility.
- Supervises directly all engineering personnel.
- Prepares reports, budgets and correspondence.
- Prepares monthly financial critiques and 90 day rolling forecast.
- Implements preventative maintenance programs and monitors energy use.
- Maintains safety compliance with OSHA/ADA and other regulations.
