Job summary

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to lead engineering and grounds teams across its oceanfront properties.

The role focuses on preventative maintenance, cost control, and project execution to keep facilities in peak condition. The position requires overseeing daily operations, preparing budgets and forecasts, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards while delivering exceptional member and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 3–5 years related experience and/or training.
• Experience coordinating engineering and grounds teams to maintain property at optimal levels.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ADA and related safety standards; ability to read and interpret safety-related documents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Engineering and Grounds teams and maintain properties.
• Prepare budgets, reports, and monthly forecasts; monitor expenses and inventories.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs and energy-conservation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety regulations; lead safety trainings.
