Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to assist the Director of Engineering in leading all aspects of the hotel’s engineering operations. The role requires supervising staff, planning and directing maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and guest service expectations.

The ideal candidate provides strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, guest-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building-related trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
• Five years of hotel or building maintenance/facilities management experience with at least one year in a lead role.
• Ability to mentor and train staff to meet/exceed guest expectations and maintain high service quality.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills for guest interaction.
• Ability to lead and coordinate staff in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods; flexible to AM/PM/weekend/holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Engineering with planning, organization, development and directing of the engineering team.
• Supervise Engineering personnel to meet quality standards and department goals according to company policies and laws.
• Interview and train team members; recommend hires, promotions and merit increases.
• Set work plans, deadlines and performance expectations for the engineering team.
