Job summary

Peraton in Herndon, VA seeks an Engineering Operations Execution Manager to supervise a 30-engineer team within BASE, delivering the Digital NAS Architecture (DNA) as part of the BNATCS program. Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in engineering operations or management.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
• Minimum of 5 years supervising engineering staff in a matrixed program environment.
• Direct experience supervising an engineering community of 20+ people.
• Demonstrated ability to run a performance management cycle from multiple feedback sources.
• Experience producing workforce forecasts, utilization reports, and resource allocation matrices.
• Working knowledge of MBSE, systems architecture, or digital engineering.
• Experience with time-tracking, charge-code governance, and billing in federal contracting.
• Strong written and verbal communication for executive audiences.
• Demonstrated judgment on when to decide, elevate, or coach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately 30 engineers across seven functional groups.
• Conduct monthly one-on-one performance check-ins and document outcomes.
• Gather structured performance input from delivery, technical, and professional sources.
• Flag performance concerns early and coach engineers.
• Produce a rolling 90-day staffing forecast for the pillar.
• Produce weekly utilization reports for all engineers in the pillar.
• Maintain the resource allocation matrix and align with priorities.
• Own onboarding end-to-end, pairing engineers with mentors.
• Approve PTO requests and manage coverage to protect delivery.
• Approve weekly timesheets and ensure accurate charge-code attribution.
• Serve as liaison between execution groups and leadership.
• Partner on hiring plans and participate in candidate interviews.
• Prepare materials for annual performance ratings and promotions.
• Publish operational reports to leadership on cadence.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Security on workforce actions.
