Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Automation Architect - SME to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of automation strategies for the FAA BNATCS program. This on-site role is based in Herndon, VA, and requires coordinating across engineering teams to meet mission objectives and FAA processes.

The ideal candidate has strong systems engineering background, cloud experience, and hands-on operations with COTS integrations and cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive systems engineering experience for cloud and non-cloud systems.
• Experience integrating COTS into government environments.
• Experience with federal cybersecurity requirements (NIST RMF, FedRAMP, Zero Trust).
• Proficiency in Java, Python, PowerShell, Bash.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end systems engineering across the full lifecycle: requirements, design, integration, verification, validation.
• Drive cloud concepts, architectures, trade studies, and system analyses to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet objectives and requirements.
• Prepare and deliver technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
