Job summary

Greenhill School’s Design + Innovation program seeks a dynamic educator to lead and expand hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering experiences for middle and upper school students. The role focuses on guiding project-based learning, prototyping, and safe operation of tools in a school machine shop.

You will teach 4 classes plus an advisory, mentor capstone projects, collaborate across disciplines, and participate in school initiatives that promote innovation, equity, and real-world

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or STEM related field.
• Experience in hands-on STEM program.
• Strong knowledge of DC circuits and power concepts.
• Proficiency in programming microcontrollers such as Arduino or similar.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, motors, and actuators.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as Onshape, SolidWorks, Fusion 360.
• Strong problem-solving and mentorship abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Industry experience in engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach project-based learning experiences with electrical and mechanical concepts.
• Guide projects involving DC circuits, sensors, actuators, and Arduino.
• Help students program microcontrollers for automation and control.
• Assist students with schematics and PCB design when possible.
• Integrate design thinking into the curriculum and mentor capstone projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and professional development.
• Support school initiatives around innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
