Job summary

BelovED Community & Empowerment Academy Charter Schools seeks an innovative educator to design and teach elective courses for high school students. You will lead engaging, student-centered lessons and align them with district standards while fostering critical thinking and creativity.

The ideal candidate holds or is pursuing licensure in the elective area, has urban-teaching experience, and can collaborate with a professional learning community to raise student achievement.

Qualifications

• Hold or pursue licensure in the elective area you teach.
• Commit to the school's mission and goals.
• Prepare every student for college and careers.
• Provide a structured, standards-aligned classroom environment.
• Demonstrate a record of student learning gains.
• Establish classroom authority and rules.
• Build relationships with students and involve families.
• Urban-teaching experience and familiarity with champion techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Uphold values, high expectations, and commitment to all students' potential.
• Ensure students achieve learning progress meeting high standards.
• Plan and deliver vibrant, standards-aligned lessons with measurable goals.
• Model consistent behavior and supervise students across the campus.
• Collaborate in professional teams and attend professional development.
• Work with SPED and ELL staff to implement programs and comply with regs.
• Report to Head Dean and coordinate with Dean of Students and Teacher Coach.
