Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. invites applications for an enthusiastic instructor to teach in the High School Summer Program.

The instructor will lead hands-on ECE activities introducing concepts in electrical and computer engineering, AI, and cybersecurity, while fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Responsibilities include planning lessons, delivering hands-on activities, and mentoring students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience teaching or mentoring students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging instructional activities related to electrical and computer engineering.
  • Deliver hands-on design activities while ensuring a safe learning environment.
  • Introduce students to engineering principles, programming, electronics, robotics, or related ECE topics.
  • Encourage student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship throughout the program.
  • Coordinate with student assistants and program staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Prepare instructional materials and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Attend all program sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during July 27–30. Each topic is assigned for a specific day.
