Job summary

Standex Electronics in Houston seeks an Engineering Director to provide strategic leadership for the engineering function, overseeing Product Engineering and R&D to drive new product development, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate across Operations, Sales, and executive leadership to deliver customer-focused solutions, manage department budgets, mentor talent, and build an agile, compliant engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering leader with design/manufacturing experience in a technical environment.
• Experience managing multiple sites and regions.
• Strong Lean/continuous improvement background.
• Experience with NPI and NPD systems and processes.
• Proven ability to develop technical talent and lead strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the engineering department's strategic vision aligned with company goals.
• Lead Product Engineering, Project Management, and Doc Control and mentor leads.
• Build R&D organization, manage technology roadmaps and innovation process.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and certifications.
• Develop and manage the engineering budget and optimize resource allocation.
