Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Director of Engineering in Huntsville to lead a diverse engineering and design team responsible for coordinating with production for product development. The role emphasizes process-driven management to meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.

The position requires extensive experience with MIL-SPEC, government contracting, and RFP/RFI responses, plus strong mentoring and leadership skills, including 10+ direct reports.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Technical Management experience overseeing Engineering teams including mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
• Experience overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and working with production for product development
• Strong understanding of military and industry specifications (MIL-SPEC, ASME, etc.)
• Experience overseeing design reviews
• Experience with government contracting and responding to RFPs and RFIs
• Experience presenting gated artifacts to customers and senior officials
• Ability to lead, coach, and mentor others with a minimum of 10 direct reports in a previous role
• Experience setting, owning, and managing an annual budget
• Strong communication and professionalism
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school; Solidworks EPDM experience
