Job summary

FMS Aerospace is seeking a Director of Engineering in Huntsville to lead and shape the engineering organization across design, development, production support, and sustainment. You will drive strategic direction, technical excellence, and performance metrics for multiple programs while partnering with operations and customers.

The role requires a strong track record delivering complex aerospace programs on schedule and within budget, with leadership experience across diverse engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Mechanical/Systems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10–15 years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace/defense.
• At least 5 years of engineering management leading teams and programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams and set performance metrics.
• Provide technical leadership for aerospace product design, development, and lifecycle support.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and quality to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, change control, and audits; support customer reviews.
