Job summary

The Jaynes Team is seeking an Engineering & Development Coach to mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers while performing PE/APM duties as needed. This role blends leadership, training, and hands-on project involvement across multiple commercial construction projects.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, 10+ years in construction PM/engineering, and strong knowledge of scheduling, estimating, and Procore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction project management or engineering roles.
• Proven experience mentoring or coaching engineering/project management staff.
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (tech, equipment, methods, codes, processes).
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of Primavera/Sure Trak scheduling, Timberline Estimating/Accounting, Procore and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, train, and develop Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers in technical, managerial, and operational competencies.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions to strengthen team capabilities.
• Provide guidance on construction project processes, including reviews of documents, submittals, procurement tracking, RFIs, and records.
• Coach team on schedule interpretation to ensure timely material deliveries and review scope changes for accuracy.
• Assess skill gaps and create growth plans with clear goals.
• Maintain scheduling for individuals and group trainings.
• Assist in project planning, coordination, and monitoring to meet scope, schedule, and budget targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
• Support documentation, reporting, and compliance related to project delivery.
