Job summary

US Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District, Fort Shafter, HI, is seeking a design manager and technical lead to oversee planning, design, and construction for DoD and civil projects. The role requires a broad engineering background, liaison with stakeholders, and compliance with DoD standards.

The incumbent will manage A-E contracts, provide technical leadership, and ensure quality across architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in architecture with required coursework and licensure benchmarks.
• Experience in planning, design and construction management for DoD or civil projects.
• Licensure as Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is preferred/required by the role.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering projects from planning through design and construction, setting scope, schedules, budgets, and quality controls.
• Lead project delivery teams and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve technical, design, construction, and project management issues.
• Manage A-E support contracts, including scope development, proposals evaluation, and contractor oversight.
• Provide technical review of designs, specifications, and construction documents to ensure compliance with criteria and standards.
• Perform design/construction support activities including site visits and review of changes to ensure conformance to plans.
