Job summary

The role requires designing and managing complex contracts, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and coordinating with contractors and government engineers to resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• Registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by a state; or combination of education and experience.
• Specialized experience: 1 year in developing plans and specs; construction contract administration or QA; and safety for federal construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and reviews the work of GS, WG and WL staff.
• Develops and implements policy, project designs, contracts, and construction activities and project management.
• Develops sophisticated designs for project contracts with advanced technical knowledge.
• Provides program development for safety, environmental compliance, and dam safety.
• Uses Project Management tools such as FEM to develop site and job schedules.
• Analyzes ongoing work and machinery history to locate problems.
• Reviews safety and environmental programs at other projects for compliance with regulations and plans.
• Interprets plans and specs to resolve contractor-government issues.
