Job summary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Portland, OR seeks a civil engineer to lead field investigations, develop civil designs, construction plans, and contract specifications. You will perform calculations, prepare design analysis, and produce contract drawings using CADD.

Responsibilities include QA/QC reviews and responding to RFIs, with as-built drawings prepared after construction. Qualified applicants have a bachelor’s in engineering (ABET-accredited preferred) and experience with design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required, ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Experience with design analysis, calculations, and quantity estimates.
• Familiarity with CADD and producing contract drawings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations and write engineering reports.
• Develop civil designs, construction plans and contract specifications, including design analysis, calculations, and quantity estimates.
• Utilize CADD to perform civil design and create contract drawings.
• Prepare Architect-Engineer statements of work, performance requirements and labor estimates.
• Perform Design Quality Control and Assurance Reviews of in-house and A-E Civil designs.
• Conduct inspections of projects under construction, review construction submittals, answer Contractor's RFIs, and prepare as-constructed drawings.
