Job summary

Actalent in Houston, TX is seeking an Engineering Coordinator to organize projects, manage schedules, track documentation, and ensure accurate state certification submittals. You will serve as the critical link between the shop floor and engineering, conveying status, issues, and priorities while coordinating multiple projects in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project coordination experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience as engineering coordinator or similar engineering support role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and environments.
• Ability to read Bills of Materials (BOM) and fabrication drawings.
• 2+ years hands-on Excel experience for tracking projects and data.
• Experience with document review and submittal drawings coordination.
• Familiarity with state certification processes and tracking submittals/approvals.
• Proven experience providing project support in a technical/engineering context.
• Excellent organizational skills with multitasking ability.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering projects by organizing schedules, documentation, and priorities across multiple active projects.
• Walk the shop floor daily to observe progress and gather updates.
• Communicate updates and issues to Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Review submittal packages for state certification accuracy before submission.
• Track all submittals and monitor approval status to keep projects moving.
• Use Excel to track project details, timelines, and milestones.
• Support documentation review and submittal drawings coordination.
• Manage 8-9 projects simultaneously with engineers on priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.
