AXA XL is seeking an Engineering & Construction Underwriter in the United States to drive underwriting profitability, manage risk, and build strong broker and client relationships. You will contribute to FAC/NA reinsurance processes, pricing, and strategic market activity.

The role requires deep knowledge of engineering/construction property insurance, plus strong numerical and communication skills to support cross-functional teams and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry with emphasis on engineering and/or construction property insurance/reinsurance.
• Familiarity with policy wording and rating systems.
• Strong numerical ability and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite and produce individual risk accounts with production/premium annual goals.
• Maintain client/broker contacts and relationships as appropriate.
• Contribute to NA Reinsurance and Property facultative audit process as appropriate.
• Manage individual risk T&E expenditures as appropriate in coordination with Head of NA Facultative Reinsurance.
• Contribute to and develop annual personal P&D plan in coordination with NA Reinsurance and Property Fac leadership team.
• Contribute to individual risk division training and new hire onboarding as appropriate.
• Underwrite terms and conditions and establish pricing for new and renewal NA Reinsurance and property facultative business by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing account information.
• Achieve consistent satisfactory internal/external audit results by adhering to underwriting guidelines, regulatory and rating guidelines.
• Effectively communicate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, underwriting service department and claims staff to ensure profitability of accounts.
• Maintain and service a book of business by analyzing endorsement requests, participating in large loss and customer account team meetings, audits and provide top quality customer service to brokers and cedants.
• Participate in strategic planning and implementation of business development activities including identifying key brokers/markets; marketing to external brokers/cedants; action plans; accompany other underwriters on broker/client visits as needed.
• Work effectively in a team setting; contribute to a high-performance team by embracing unit goals.
• Contribute to and implement actions to improve performance and efficiency.
