Job summary

City of Austin seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex administrative projects from initiation to completion. You will coordinate staffing, negotiate consultant contracts, and monitor performance to ensure on-time, on-budget results.

Essential duties include developing plans, preparing Council materials, and delivering presentations. Travel to multiple sites is required; strong communication and leadership are critical for success in this essential role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; six years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of project accounting and methodologies.
  • Experience with contract policies and vendor management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and implementation of projects with defined requirements.
  • Obtain staffing requirements and form project teams.
  • Negotiate contract terms and fees with consultants.
  • Prepare reports and agendas for City leadership and Council.
  • Monitor contracts and change orders to ensure compliance.
