The City of New York invites applications for COLLEGE AIDE (ALL CITY DEPTS) – 10209. The role supports the Citywide Concrete Unit in inspecting pedestrian ramps, assisting the Engineer-In-Charge or Project Manager on design and reporting tasks, and coordinating permits and utility markouts.

Multiple assignment levels exist with IT focus options. Appointments are governed by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

Formación

• For Assignment Level I: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
• For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, MIS, data processing, or closely related field, including 9 semester credits.
• For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, MIS, data processing, or other relevant area including 9 semester credits. Appointments made by Technology Steering Committee through DOTIT.

Responsabilidades

• To conduct inspections of existing pedestrian ramps.
• Assist the EIC or Project Manager on duties such as constructability checks, pre-construction layouts, post-construction reporting, and technical infeasibility form submissions.
• Coordinate 811/utility mark outs and permits.
• Research, planning, and administration review.
