Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation seeks a College Aide to assist the Citywide Concrete Unit under the Engineer‑In‑Charge or Project Manager. The role centers on inspections, coordination, and project support.

Responsibilities include ramp inspections, constructability checks, layouts, post‑construction reporting, and liaising on 811/utility markouts and permits, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a city agency environment.

Qualifications

• Matriculation in accredited college or graduate school is required.
• For IT Assignment Level II, study in information technology, computer science, MIS, data processing or related field with 9 credits required.
• Assignment Level III requires study in IT or related area with 9 credits; appointments made by Technology Steering Committee.

Responsibilities

• Inspect existing pedestrian ramps.
• Assist EIC/Project Manager with duties: constructability checks, pre-construction layouts, post-construction reporting, and Technical Infeasibility Form submissions.
• Manage CWC Database reporting and administration.
• Support research, planning and administration review.
• Coordinate 811/utility mark outs and permits.
