Job summary

Duke Energy’s co-op program in 2027 offers hands-on engineering experience across Transmission, Distribution, PMC, EH&S, RRE and Grid Planning Studies. You’ll work with staff engineers to design, analyze, and improve grid assets while exploring multiple engineering tracks in different locations.

You will rotate through several groups and gain exposure to real-world power system planning, project delivery, and safety practices, in a hybrid, onsite setting.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET-accredited Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial & Systems Engineering.
• Must not graduate prior to May 2027.
• Cumulative GPA 2.75 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff engineers in transmission design and analysis of substations and lines.
• Support distribution planning and grid reliability projects during rotations.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver safe and efficient grid solutions.
