Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. offers a part-time, temporary Co-op program for engineering/technology/CS students focused on product development. You’ll work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year, with mentoring and meaningful tasks at hand.

Roles span product design, CFD/FEA, test/validation, controls, embedded software, and data analytics, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver quality Caterpillar solutions.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in a 4-year ABET-accredited engineering program.
• GPA at least 3.0/4.0 (no rounding) at the current institution.
• Interest in product development and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product design and development across Caterpillar products.
• Conduct CFD/FEA simulations, 3D modeling, and design optimization.
• Engage in test/validation with hands-on investigations.
• Develop and implement control algorithms using Matlab/Simulink.
• Contribute to embedded software in C/C++ and Python for automation.
• Assist with data analytics and engineering data interpretation.
• Support process engineering and manufacturing improvements.
