Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. invites students to join our Corporate Engineering Intern program, a 12-week, full-time experience designed to immerse you in real project work alongside engineering professionals.

You will gain exposure to product design, simulation, test/validation, controls, embedded software, and data analytics within a collaborative environment. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, networking with management, and the opportunity to develop business skills through team and partner

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in a 4-year university/college pursuing an ABET accredited degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Agricultural or Aerospace Engineering; Engineering Technology; or similar technical based programs at the time of application and throughout the program
• Must have completed at least 24 semester hours from current institution before the start of the internship. If a transfer student, must have 12 semester hours completed at a 4-year university
• Must have a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative grade point average (no rounding) at time of application from current institution
• Must maintain 3.0/4.0 cumulative grade point average (no rounding) prior to start of internship
• Must be able to relocate to Peoria, IL area or an indicated work location for the duration of the internship and complete daily work commute using reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Join a diverse team with project responsibilities and networking opportunities.
• Internship is a 40-hour-per-week assignment lasting 12 weeks.
• Focus on building technical abilities in areas like Product Design, Simulation/Performance Analysis, Test/Validation, Controls Development, Embedded Software, Data Analytics, and Process Engineering.
