Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking an Engineering Change Specialist in Farmington, CT to manage and improve the engineering change process across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, strong knowledge of BOMs and drawings, and hands-on ERP/MRP and PLM experience with SAP and SmartSheet.

You will coordinate cross-functional reviews, develop implementation plans, maintain configuration data, and train teams on change control

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in engineering change management or related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, BOMs, manufacturing processes, and change control procedures.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and PLM systems.
• SAP and SmartSheet experience preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across multiple departments and manage several changes simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve the engineering change management process, including ECN workflows, governance standards, and process improvement initiatives.
• Receive, validate, prioritize, and process engineering change requests with complete documentation.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Service, Suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate impacts of proposed engineering changes on technical, quality, cost, inventory, procurement, compliance, and scheduling.
• Manage approval workflows and release activities, ensuring all reviews and approvals are completed before changes are implemented.
• Develop and execute implementation plans addressing production timing, inventory disposition, supplier coordination, and communication requirements.
• Support sourcing, procurement, quoting, and implementation activities for new and revised parts.
• Maintain product configuration accuracy by creating, updating, and controlling BOMs, drawings, material master data, work instructions, and ERP/PLM records.
• Serve as a primary resource for engineering change implementation and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Monitor engineering change metrics and participate in post-implementation reviews for corrective actions.
• Develop training materials and provide training related to engineering change processes and product changes.
