Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking an Engineering Change Specialist in Farmington, CT to partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement to evaluate, approve, implement and document engineering changes efficiently.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of BOMs, ECN processes, ERP/MRP and PLM systems, and a detail-oriented mindset for accurate configuration management and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in engineering change management, manufacturing, industrial engineering, supply chain, or a related technical field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, BOMs, manufacturing processes, and engineering change control procedures.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and PLM systems; SAP and SmartSheet experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve the engineering change management process, including ECN workflows, governance standards, and process improvements.
• Receive, validate, prioritize, and process engineering change requests with complete documentation.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Service, and Suppliers.
• Evaluate impacts of proposed changes on technical, quality, cost, inventory, procurement, compliance, and scheduling.
• Manage approval workflows and release activities to ensure timely changes.
• Develop and execute implementation plans addressing production timing, inventory disposition, supplier coordination, and communication requirements.
• Support sourcing, procurement, quoting, and implementation activities for new and revised parts.
• Assess impact on production operations including processes, material availability, and schedules.
• Determine inventory disposition and rework requirements; create documentation and instructions.
• Maintain product configuration accuracy by updating BOMs, drawings, and ERP/PLM records.
• Serve as primary resource for engineering change implementation and escalate high-risk issues.
• Monitor metrics and participate in post-implementation reviews to drive improvements.
• Develop training materials related to engineering change processes and product changes.
