SUMMARY

This position is an opportunity to work with the Storm Water Services Land Development Section. The team is seeking someone who is detail-oriented with a customer service focus who can provide support for the Storm Water Engineering Plan Review and Erosion Control teams. This position is administrative and will help manage land development permitting tasks and assist customers through the land development process.

SALARY OFFERING FOR THIS POSITION: $28.30 - $35.37/hr. Commensurate with Experience

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the engineering and erosion control teams with administrative support for permitting and regulatory field operations
  • Review and process close-out documents for residential development projects as well as other administrative forms, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Storm Water building permit hold releases
  • Coordinate customer service requests and track case activity
  • Prepare, process, and distribute regulatory correspondence, including certified mail and enforcement notices
  • Schedule preconstruction meetings and coordinate calendars with customers and staff
  • Process administrative forms, reports, and case files, and maintain documents in accordance with record retention requirements
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other productivity tools
  • Ability to learn City and County Accela permitting systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work and complete assignments with minimal supervision
  • Adaptable and willing to support multiple teams with changing priorities
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to department-specific processes, tools, and terminology
  • Committed to accuracy, consistency, and continuous process improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with land development and/or building permitting
  • Experience with Accela permitting system
  • Ability to interpret construction plans
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent and one year of work experience
  • Associate's degree
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
