Job summary

JLL is seeking an Engineer Apprentice to support operations, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at a Carteret, NJ property. The role assists engineers, performs defined tasks, and conducts interior/exterior inspections and repairs.

The position follows a 1st shift schedule and emphasizes safe, compliant work practices. Responsibilities include logs, preventive maintenance, and support for SOP implementations, emergencies, and tenant requests, all while

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a Building Engineer or equivalent facilities technical trade.
• Lab and cleanroom environments experience (recommended).
• Experience in high stress/demand environments.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Trade school, union training, or college desirable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall.

Responsibilities

• Assist with logs and file tracking (e.g., chemical consumption logs) for property operations.
• Assist with existing system operation and preventative maintenance.
• Support Lead Engineer and Building Engineers to ensure on-schedule, quality services.
• Assist in implementing system SOPs and in system shutdown/start-up procedures.
• Interact with tenants and contractors professionally and safely.
