Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking an Engineering and Technology Education Lead to collaborate with Design Studio staff and capstone project sponsors to define hardware, software, and data needs across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/SE or related field with 1 year IT services management experience.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with strong communication.
  • Familiarity with modern software development tools and methodologies.

Job description

Engineering and Technology Education Lead

The Engineering and Technology Education Lead collaborates with Design Studio staff and Capstone Project Sponsor technical contacts to assess and define hardware, software, and data needs for capstone projects. This role establishes initial technical requirements and provides ongoing support for projects throughout each project’s lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support onboarding of annual capstone projects.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and resource for student teams in partnership with Design Studio staff.
  • Procure and manage IT equipment inventory.
  • Manage software‑as‑a‑service (SaaS) usage and expenditures.
  • Coordinate and execute the technical components of annual Design Studio and Raikes School events.
  • Administer cloud‑based services, source control systems, and collaboration platforms.
  • Act as primary administrator of the Raikes School website and liaison between the Raikes School and University ITS and audio‑visual teams.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related technical field and one (1) year of experience in IT services management, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage/prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to network and build relationships with community and institutional partners.
  • Familiarity with modern software development tools and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students or mentoring.
  • Experience working in higher education.
