Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Engineer V, Structural (Oil & Gas) based in Houston. The role focuses on strategic direction, technical oversight, and mentoring of the civil engineering group within a dynamic energy facility context.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering and 10+ years in the field.
• Professional Engineer licensure is preferred.
• Experience in the energy sector and knowledge of codes/regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the civil engineering discipline.
• Review designs, perform sizing/analyses, and approve foundation and structural calculations.
• Support project planning, estimation, and progress reporting for multi-disciplinary teams.
• Present deliverables to stakeholders and liaise with clients and vendors.

Purpose

A senior leadership position, responsible for providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and mentorship to the civil engineering discipline. You will play a critical role in shaping the organization's engineering strategies, driving innovation, and ensuring excellence in project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Perform building sizing and selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
• Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Present engineering and design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project progress reporting and schedule requirements.Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule.
• Supports proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying list of deliverables, and estimating effort required
• Work is highly independent.
• Prepares, reviews, and approves foundation, structural steel, building, and earthwork calculations, requisitions, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
• Ten or more (10+) years of experience required.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering principles and practices, particularly in the energy sector.
• Advanced proficiency in emerging civil engineering software and tools.
• Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations.
• Advanced proficiency in geotechnical and structural engineering principles.
• In-depth knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills - written and verbal.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Strong relationship capabilities.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.
