Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Engineer III, Structural (Oil & Gas) in Houston to provide senior-level guidance, technical leadership, and oversight of civil engineering projects from design through construction.

You will drive innovation, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with engineering, design, procurement, and construction teams to deliver large-scale facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience required.
  • Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering principles and practices, particularly in the energy sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in emerging civil engineering software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations.
  • Advanced proficiency in geotechnical and structural engineering principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Strong relationship capabilities.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform building sizing and selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
  • Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
  • Present engineering and design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
  • Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule.
  • Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves foundation, structural steel, building, and earthwork calculations, requisitions, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering

Purpose

This position will hold a senior-level position, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership in civil engineering projects.
