Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. seeks a full-time entry-level Civil Engineer to work in our Transportation business unit.

You will work under a licensed engineer to develop plans, specifications, and estimates, and prepare quality 3D models for design to be used by clients in the construction phase. Responsibilities include collaborating on transportation projects for municipal, county, and state agencies, assisting in reports and feasibility studies, and completing tasks within a project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• 0–2 years of experience for an entry-level role.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must complete a background check.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

Job description

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Engineer to work in our Transportation business unit. This is an entry-level position and requires 0-2 years of experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Candidate will work under a licensed engineer
• Responsible for the development of engineering plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E)
• Prepare quality 3D models for design to be used by clients in the construction phase
• Work as part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for municipal, county and state agencies
• Assist in the preparation of reports and feasibility studies
• Responsible for the completion of assigned tasks within a project

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Knowledge of MicroStation and PowerGeoPAK SS4/OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must complete a background check

SALARY RANGE:

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $65,000 - $91,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
