Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. seeks an entry-level Engineer to join the Transportation team. This full-time role requires 0-2 years of experience and offers exposure to PS&E development and 3D modeling for municipal and state projects.

You will work under a licensed engineer, preparing reports, collaborating with a team, and contributing to feasibility studies. A degree in civil engineering and the ability to obtain a driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Engineer in Training certificate (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and PowerGeopak SS4/OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must complete a background check.

Job description

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Engineer to work in our Transportation business unit. This is an entry-level position and requires 0-2 years of experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Candidate will work under a licensed engineer
• Responsible for the development of engineering plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E)
• Prepare quality 3D models for design to be used by clients in the construction phase
• Work as part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for municipal, county and state agencies
• Assist in the preparation of reports and feasibility studies
• Responsible for the completion of assigned tasks within a project

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Engineer in Training certificate (preferred)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Knowledge of MicroStation and PowerGeoPAK SS4/OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must complete a background check

SALARY RANGE

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $65,000 - $91,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
