Job summary

Exmark, located in Beatrice, Nebraska, a division of The Toro Company, seeks an engineer to develop and improve production processes from receiving to finished goods. You will set time standards, plan equipment, and coordinate projects to meet schedules.

Responsibilities include establishing standards for labor, optimizing assembly and paint lines, and guiding capital projects. Strong communication and leadership needed; design expertise with Creo is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 0-3 years' experience.
• Discipline/major: Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Strong communication, ability to meet deadlines, work independently and in a team, problem solving, analytical thinking, and leadership.

• Establishes methods and processes for assembly, welding, paint line and related material handling on new products and equipment.
• Recommends capital equipment and prepares capital expenditure requisitions.

• Acts as liaison with engineering on troubleshooting current and new products.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for developing and improving efficient, production processes and methods from parts receiving, through welding, powder-coat, assembly to finished goods at the warehouse or shipping. Establishes time standards in direct labor departments consistent with required level of output. Plans equipment to meet these requirements. Coordinates projects to meet time schedules.

What Will You Do?

• Establishes and maintains engineered time standards for direct labor operations.
• Establishes methods and processes for assembly, welding, paint line and related material handling on new products and equipment.
• Recommends capital equipment and prepares capital expenditure requisitions.
• Supervises the installation of equipment, methods and processes as related to accomplishment of goals.
• Works with department supervisors and value stream manufacturing engineers with implementation of new methods and processes.
• Acts as liaison with engineering regarding engineering trouble shooting pertaining to the manufacture of current and new products.
• Makes recommendations for improving safety, quality, or productivity activities.
• Coordinates projects using in-house resources and outside resources to meet project costs and time schedules.
• Must be familiar with OSHA requirements and recommends corrective action to ensure OSHA standards are met.
• Implements proper ergonomics in workstation setup, processes, tooling and safety equipment.
• Conducts ergonomic audits during production and setups.
• Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved.
• Creates necessary documentation (standard work, Heijunka cards, etc) for all new product launches.
• Oversee activities involving automation controls, PLC's and robotics.
• Design weld fixtures using Creo and hold design review meetings.
• Optional depending on experience, supervise Robot and Jig and Fixture technicians.

What Do You Need?

• Associate degree and 0-3 years' experience
• Discipline/major: Engineering degree required
• Critical professional related technical skills: Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Preferred Qualifications: Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Problem solving skill. Analytical thinking skills. Design expertise. Leadership skills.
