Job summary

WSB seeks a Project Engineer to join our team and work on groundbreaking municipal projects across the United States. You will design, plan, and deliver solutions while collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to ensure quality and timeliness.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 4+ years of municipal experience, plus a PE license or plan to obtain it within six months. Office-based with some travel, you will mentor junior staff and help grow our project capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school.
• 4+ years of experience in Municipal engineering or related field.
• PE license in TX and/or OK, or the ability to obtain within six months.
• Functional understanding of design software, preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design of municipal projects, delivering high-impact solutions to clients.
• Monitor task progress, delegate responsibilities, and manage deliverables to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality, client-focused results.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Perform design-related tasks including 3D modeling, calculations, cost and quantity estimates, and plan development.
• Contribute to proposal preparation, project budgets, schedules, and public involvement efforts.
• Ensure adherence to internal and client standards and quality expectations.
• Troubleshoot design or construction challenges and provide practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Attend client meetings and provide updates on scope, progress, and technical issues.
• Maintain accurate project records and document design decisions.
• Contribute to proposal writing, scope development, and fee estimates for new projects.
• Identify opportunities for additional services or follow-up work with existing clients.
• Support and mentor graduate engineers and technicians, fostering their growth.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school
• 4+ years of experience in Municipal engineering or related field
• PE license in TX and/or OK, or the ability to obtain their license within six months
• Functional understanding of design software packages, preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Ability to prepare, read and understand construction plans and technical documents
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment, occasional travel or field visits may be required to support
