Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimating Support professional in Anchorage, AK. You will assist engineering operations, interpret designs for takeoffs, and help plan bids while producing accurate material calculations.

The role requires 0–2 years of related experience, HS diploma or GED with progress toward a bachelor’s degree, and strong MS Office skills. Travel within Alaska and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor’s degree.
• Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator.
• Ability to assume responsibility and communicate effectively with others.
• Must comply with corporate safety initiatives.
• Team player
• Ability and willingness to abide by the Company’s Code of Conduct daily.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be safety conscious when working around large construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist construction engineering operations to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards.
• Interpret designs and drawings for takeoffs and workforce planning for bidding and construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute status reports, punch lists, completed-work sketches, and material requirement calculations.
• Provide technical support and direction on project materials, specifications, delivery dates, and construction schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and material pricing for accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for project cost controls.
• Work on projects in and around Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska.
