Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a cost estimator to perform routine estimating assignments under supervision and to develop project cost estimates from drawings and specifications. You will prepare labor, material and equipment costs, analyze bid documents, and support change management and negotiations.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or 4 years of cost-estimating experience; coursework in reading design drawings and cost estimating preferred; visa sponsorship not

Responsibilities

• Perform routine estimating assignments under close supervision.
• Project costs for upcoming projects.
• Prepare constituent cost estimates (labor, material, equipment) and total installed costs.
• Prepare economic cost studies, cash flows, and contingency analyses as needed.
• Analyze bid and design documents and perform quantity takeoffs for cost development.
• Estimate construction labor, material, and equipment costs from drawings and specs.
• Collect cost data from representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Use estimating software to develop cost estimates with guidance from lead estimators.
• Create cost models for estimating elements.
• Support independent cost estimates for change management, claims analysis, and price negotiations.

• Collect construction cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors
• Gather and use industry data and publications for estimating
• Use estimating software to develop cost estimates with guidance from lead or senior estimators
• Create cost models for cost estimating elements
• Support independent cost estimates for change management, claims analysis, and price negotiations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience developing cost estimates in lieu of education
• College coursework or equivalent technical coursework in reading design drawings and specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimating fundamentals preferred
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
