Job summary

Stanley Consultants in Muscatine, IA is seeking a Construction Cost Estimator to develop and verify cost estimates for architectural, civil, industrial, institutional, federal, and utility projects. You will prepare material take-offs, breakdown components, and assemble submittal packages with basis of estimate and supporting data.

You will interact with vendors, apply historical cost data, and work with the estimating team to keep projects progressing efficiently.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience.
• Must possess the ability to read construction documentation.
• Experience with scheduling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares material take-offs and reviews take-offs of others from planning documents or engineering drawings.
• Prepares detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates for systems and subsystems.
• Prepares the submittal package including basis of estimate, quantity backup, cost data and estimate.
• Accumulates, evaluates, and documents historical cost data for future estimates.
• Contact vendors and suppliers for current material costs.
• Prepares and/or reviews final Engineer’s estimate.
• Working knowledge of general construction practices and processes.
• Collaborates with estimating staff to keep projects progressing efficiently.
