Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking an Engineer-In-Training 1 for Cost Estimating in Muscatine, IA. This onsite role develops and checks estimates for architectural, civil, industrial, and utility projects, with travel possible.

Responsibilities include take-offs, detailed component cost breakdowns, and compiling the submittal package. Requires 0–5 years experience and a related degree; strong MS Office skills expected.

Qualifications

• Read construction documentation and interpret plans and specs.
• 0–5 years of relevant cost estimating experience.
• Strong PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience with scheduling software is a plus.
• Experience with electronic take-off tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material take-offs from planning documents or drawings.
• Breakdown components for estimates of systems and subsystems.
• Prepare or review the basis of estimate and cost data.
• Collect and analyze historical cost data for estimating.
• Coordinate with vendors for current material costs.
• Attend meetings with clients and internal staff.
