Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Construction Cost Estimator to join our Muscatine, Iowa team. This role develops and reviews cost estimates for diverse projects, including architectural, civil, industrial, federal, and utility facilities.

Occasional travel and overtime may be required based on project needs. The position emphasizes preparing quantity take-offs, reviewing estimates, and assembling complete packages with Basis of Estimate and cost data documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material quantity take-offs from planning documents and engineering drawings.
• Review quantity take-offs prepared by other estimators for accuracy and completeness.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, including system and subsystem breakdowns.
• Prepare complete estimate packages with Basis of Estimate and backup.
• Collect, evaluate, and maintain historical cost information for future estimating efforts.
• Contact vendors to obtain current pricing and market information.
• Prepare and review final Engineer's Estimates.
• Apply knowledge of construction methods and industry practices.
• Collaborate with Estimating Department to meet deadlines.
