Job Description

As a Cloud Data Engineer III at ALSAC, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing systems, models, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure to address complex business challenges. You will leverage AWS cloud technologies and collaborate with leadership and technical teams to create a data infrastructure that enhances business insights, supports donor acquisition, and ensures operational excellence.

You will also mentor junior engineers, recommend best practices, and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

• Develop and maintain data processing software, models, pipelines, and databases using AWS services and related tools.
• Design and lead cloud-native architecture strategies, including migration from on-premise systems to AWS.
• Provide strategic guidance on cloud architecture, security, and data governance.
• Build and optimize large datasets and pipelines for analytics and data science use cases.
• Mentor and lead junior data engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Implement DevSecOps practices to automate and secure data and infrastructure delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve data availability.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to data privacy, security, and compliance.
• Research emerging technologies and industry trends to foster innovation.
• Effectively communicate the value of cloud solutions to stakeholders at all levels.

Minimum Requirements

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling and data warehousing.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, and others.
• Knowledge of API integration, ETL/ELT processes, and big data tools like Spark, Kafka.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and database source control.
• Strong understanding of stream-processing systems and scripting languages like Python, Scala, Java.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience in enterprise infrastructure architecture.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
• Experience with migration projects, cost optimization in AWS, and security frameworks.
