Job summary

Toyota North America in Georgetown, KY, seeks an Engineer II - Production Engineering (Body weld) to lead cross‑functional projects, develop countermeasures, and drive safety, quality, and cost targets in manufacturing. The role emphasizes Kaizen, scheduling, and collaboration with NAMC teams.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s in engineering, 5+ years manufacturing experience, and willingness to travel up to 25%. On‑site at PEMC, Georgetown.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Technology, or at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Willing to work up to 25% overtime.
• Willing to travel 25% to NAMC onsite.
• PE Manufacturing experience including tooling design, equipment procurement and installation.
• Project management experience including scheduling, budgeting, coordinating, problem solving, and reporting.
• Experience identifying opportunities for improvement, investigating root cause, and developing countermeasures.
• Experience reading 3D CAD models in Carott 3/Delmia/Catia or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop countermeasures or direction proposals and distill critical decision points to evaluate necessary criteria linked to project goals and KPIs.
• Coach others through task-based activity in area of expertise.
• Create accurate schedules with clear milestones for assigned scope.
• Navigate complex scenarios and communicate escalation needs, applying Toyota Way thinking.
• Identify Kaizen opportunities and collaborate to implement countermeasures.
• Achieve self-made schedules within standard time for complex scope of work.
• Develop process plans, proposals, schedules, and project tracking based on early planning assumptions.
