Job summary

Williams is seeking an Senior Engineer to conduct technical and economic evaluations for CCUS initiatives in Tulsa. You will develop reservoir models for CO2 injection, analyze reservoir response, and support well design, permitting, and feasibility studies.

The role requires ABET-accredited or PE-qualified education with 8+ years of relevant experience. You will collaborate with the CCUS project team and external consultants, deliver presentations, and drive continuous improvement in CCUS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field with PE option or ABET-accredited program and 8+ years in natural gas/petrochemical sectors.
  • Experience applying reservoir simulations to CCUS projects and regulatory submissions.
  • Strong along with knowledge of CMG/Eclipse or Intersect software for modeling and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Screen opportunities with commercial team to align CCUS strategy.
  • Develop and implement reservoir simulation models for CO2 injection analyses.
  • Support well and facility design, permitting, and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborate with CCUS project teams and external consultants.
  • Present technical findings to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Anticipate customer needs and identify practical solutions.
  • Contribute to ongoing development of CCUS expertise within the team.

As an Engineer Sr., you will conduct technical and economic evaluations in support of the Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage team. You will develop and apply reservoir simulation models for CO2 injection analyzing reservoir response, storage efficiency, and capacity. Support team on well design, permitting process, feasibility studies, and commercial development opportunities. Taking initiative and anticipating customer needs will make you a stand-out player. Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a critical, and trusted member of a team are also vital in this role!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Works with commercial team to screen for opportunities that align with CCUS strategy
  • Creates and implements reservoir simulation models in support of Class II and Class VI applications
  • Collaborates with CCUS project team and external consultants in well and facility designs, procedures and processes to ensure smooth execution
  • Champions continual development of expertise through peer research and industry partners on subsurface projects, studies and evaluations
  • Accounts for a diverse range of sophisticated assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment
  • Prepares and delivers presentations
  • Anticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; and a minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry

Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills

  • Preferred: Strong engineering background with a deep understanding of CCUS technologies, project development processes, and industry regulations

  • Preferred: Reservoir simulation experience with CMG/Eclipse or Intersect Software

  • Preferred: Strong understanding of statistical methods for populating reservoir properties within reservoir models

  • Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area

  • Preferred: Project Management experience
