Job summary

Williams seeks a Sr. Engineer to conduct technical and economic evaluations in support of the CCUS team.

You will develop reservoir simulation models for CO2 injection, analyzing reservoir response, storage efficiency and capacity, while supporting well design, permitting, feasibility studies, and commercial development opportunities. The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering (ABET-accredited) with 8+ years in natural gas or petrochemicals; PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering from ABET-accredited college/university OR Engineering Technology with PE license; and 8+ years in natural gas or petrochemical industries.
  • Strong safety mindset and organizational/interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Screen opportunities with commercial team aligned to CCUS strategy.
  • Create and implement reservoir simulation models for Class II/VI applications.
  • Collaborate with CCUS project team and external consultants on well/facility designs.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and propose solutions.
  • Demonstrate initiative in continuing professional development.

As an Engineer Sr., you will conduct technical and economic evaluations in support of the Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage team. You will develop and apply reservoir simulation models for CO2 injection analyzing reservoir response, storage efficiency, and capacity. Support team on well design, permitting process, feasibility studies, and commercial development opportunities. Taking initiative and anticipating customer needs will make you a stand-out player. Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a critical, and trusted member of a team are also vital in this role!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Works with commercial team to screen for opportunities that align with CCUS strategy
  • Creates and implements reservoir simulation models in support of Class II and Class VI applications
  • Collaborates with CCUS project team and external consultants in well and facility designs, procedures and processes to ensure smooth execution
  • Champions continual development of expertise through peer research and industry partners on subsurface projects, studies and evaluations
  • Accounts for a diverse range of sophisticated assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment
  • Prepares and delivers presentations
  • Anticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; and a minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
Preferred:
  • Strong engineering background with a deep understanding of CCUS technologies, project development processes, and industry regulations
  • Reservoir simulation experience with CMG/Eclipse or Intersect Software
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods for populating reservoir properties within reservoir models
  • Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
  • Project Management experience
