About the Role:

Windstream’s team of Outside Plant Engineers connects consumer and small business partners to our leading telecommunications products across the United States. In this role, you will work to create meaningful connections with customers and build long-term relationships. By analyzing data, you will solve complex problems for our business and residential customers utilizing copper cable, fiber cable, and electronics. *** Moultrie is the reporting location for this position; however, candidates residing in Albany, Valdosta, Thomasville, Nashville, and Tifton can be considered due to their proximity to Moultrie.***

What You’ll Do:

• Engineer and design outside plant facilities including fiber and copper
• Assist in planning, analyzing, designing, and engineering outside plant network structures and facilities
• Organize activities for the development, construction, implementation, and maintenance of outside plant engineering projects
• Use sound engineering practices to resolve issues creatively and effectively
• Communicate effectively to establish positive relationships and drive projects to completion
• Design projects to ensure cost-effective use of materials and labor
• Perform administrative work related to projects and assignments
• Assess situations, collaborate, identify issues, and solve complex problems
• Conduct approximately 70% of work in the field and 30% in the office (varies by market)
• Maintain strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Be a self-starter, able to work independently
• Work well in a team, collaborating easily with others
• Analyze problems, prioritize, and make decisions
• Enjoy solving problems and building solutions
• Possess a college degree in Engineering or a related discipline and/or 2+ years of technical experience

Even Better:

• Experience with CAD/E, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar design programs
• Experience working with city, county, or state agencies

Qualifications include a college degree in Engineering or a related field with 0-2 years of professional experience, or 4+ years of related engineering/technical experience, or an equivalent combination. This position is safety-sensitive.
