Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Engineer I, Mechanical to support power plant upgrades and new projects under supervision. You will perform calculations, modifications, and designs, and work with senior engineers to improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

• Overtime work is required at times. Travel is required to client sites with periods of field/office work.
• Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.

Job description

Engineer I, Mechanical will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Engineer I, Mechanical should have working knowledge of evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria. Engineer I, Mechanical will assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs. Engineer I, Mechanical must possess technical knowledge of mechanical discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assist in evaluating conditions and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Education Required (minimum): BS in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university
Experience Required (minimum): Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles for application in solving problems.
