Job summary

Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to support power plant upgrades and new projects. The role involves working under senior staff, applying standard engineering methods, and contributing to calculations and design changes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of ACI, AISC and ASCE 7 demonstrated by academic record or work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; MS Office skills required.
• Pass security and drug screening; unescorted nuclear plant access required.
• Overtime work may be required and travel to client sites is expected.
• Ability to walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment.

Education Required (minimum): a minimum 3.0 GPA in civil engineering from an accredited engineering program.

Experience Required (minimum): Demonstrated knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC and ASCE 7 is desired. Knowledge can be demonstrated through academic record or work experience.

Other Required Qualifications (minimum): All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes. Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required. Overtime work is required at times. Travel is required to client sites with periods of field/office work. Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security- controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas is required.

Individual will assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs. Individual must possess technical knowledge of civil/structural discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assist in evaluating conditions and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.
