Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a candidate to assist in engineering and design activities related to power plant upgrades and projects. Responsibilities include performing calculations and modifications, collaborating with teams to enhance plant safety and performance, and managing multiple projects effectively. Job Description

Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Individual will assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs. Individual will possess technical knowledge of the electrical discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assess conditions, propose modifications, and develop design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Education Required (minimum): currently in process of obtaining a BS in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, r or process/controls engineering from an ABET accredited university that includes course work in analog and digital control systems.
  • Experience Required (minimum): Knowledge of digital/analog controls systems is required.
  • Other Required Qualifications (minimum): All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required. Effective time management skills are required, as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes. Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required. Overtime work is required at times. Travel is required to client sites with periods of field/office work. Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas is required.
  • Certification(s) or License(s) Required (minimum): Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam is desirable.
