Job description

Responsibilities

Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. The candidate should have experience with evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria. Responsibilities include performing calculations, modifications, and designs, and possessing technical knowledge of the electrical discipline. The candidate will work on project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions, propose modifications, and develop design changes that improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Qualifications
  • Education (minimum): Working toward a BS in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience (minimum): Demonstrated knowledge of electrical power distribution systems (switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, etc.) and familiarity with electrical load flow, voltage drop, and short‑circuit calculation methodology. Knowledge may be demonstrated through academic record or work experience.
  • Technical/Professional Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and effective time‑management ability to work on several concurrent projects.
  • Security & Compliance: Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access. Knowledge of U.S. export‑control laws (if applicable) and ability to comply with such laws.
  • Physical & Work Environment: Ability to travel to client sites, perform field/office work, conduct walk‑downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, climb ladders, access security‑controlled areas, and enter confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas.
  • Other Requirements: Overtime work may be required at times. No relocation assistance is available. Certification(s) or License(s) Required: None.
